About

Hello readers. I’ve had emetophobia as far back as I can remember although it never controled my day to day life until my thirties. To help combat this, I keep myself very, very busy. I train in martial arts, play tennis, bake, cookie and cake decorating, sugar art, enjoy all kinds of crafts including jewelry making, Zumba, hiking and outdoors. Other Emetophobics understand how hard it is to eat and oddly enough I have another blog…about baking which is at www.cinnamonsweetshoppe.wordpress.com

I would also like to recommend the International Emetophobia Society’s (IES)web site at www.emetophobia.org.  If you just discovered you’re Emetophobic, the IES forum will be extremely helpful to you.

I too suffer from this but never had anyone diagnosis it. I really appreciate your writing about it, I am so glad I am not alone. Most people just laugh or feel uncomfortable when I tell them I fear vomiting. Having two children who did vomit on occasion, really made it tough. Believe it or not, for a long time I wouldn’t take birth control pills because one of the side effects was nausea/vomiting. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me. Thank you Friend! – mmb

Hello! I just happened to come across your blog randomly. But I’m so glad I did! The main challenge in my life is because of my borderline personality disorder. BUT I also suffer from the debilitating condition of emetophobia. Reading your posts, it’s like reading some of my own thoughts! I have had this condition for as long as I can remember, but in recent years it has gotten significantly worse. The people in my life, while they try and be understanding and have learned to not be “sick” around me, they still do not truly understand what I go through and it is still just somewhat of a joke to them. But seriously, just knowing that there are other people out there who deal with this on a daily basis, that is an amazing feeling. So, honestly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for having this blog and for sharing. As much as I am not alone, you are not either. Although I’m sure you already know that. But it never hurts to be reminded. :)
